Bodice Fitting Masterclass – Weekender

£175.00

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th April

10am to 4pm, both days.

Are you often disappointed with the fit of the bodice in your handmade tops and dresses? Do you struggle to alter commercial patterns and get confused with all the conflicting advice given on YouTube? Then this is the course for you!

Over two days you will learn how to fit and alter both a darted bodice and a bodice with princess seams.* You will learn how to make the necessary pattern alterations and make up toiles for both styles to check your pattern adjustments for accuracy. We will cover how to recognise and make adjustments for your personal body characteristics, which can include (but not limited to): making small and full bust adjustments, alterations for sloping or square shoulders, sway or flat back adjustments and short/long waist amendments.

By the end of this bodice fitting masterclass you’ll have the confidence and skills to try this out on other patterns at home.

Note this workshop focuses on sleeveless bodices only, the effect on sleeves and/or bottoms may be discussed if time allows.

*Patterns used will be Butterick B6849 and B6850
