Join textile artist Isobel Moore in this one day workshop.
Use colourful scraps of fabric and paper to create completely unique and beautifully decorated mini Christmas trees for your cards this year.
Start by creating a background of painted card, using quick-drying acrylic paints and inks.
Decorate your Christmas tree shapes with tiny scraps of fabrics, papers and glitzy threads – the more the merrier – using simple machine stitching, and a little free motion machine embroidery.
Finally, trim your trees with beads, sequins and French knot baubles, and mount onto card blanks ready to send to friends and family.
You’ll have the opportunity to have your work professionally photographed, so you can have printed cards of your design in time to send for Christmas!
What you’ll need
Fabric and paper scraps – colourful, including greens/blues
Machine threads – colourful, including green/blue, and metallics
Hand embroidery threads – bright colours, for baubles
Glitzy/textured/novelty yarns – optional, for added texture and colour
Seed beads, sequins
All of these can be purchased on the day at the studio but if you’re anything like me, you may have a stash of pretty bits and bobs at home just waiting to be used!
