A little about Annabel…

Originally a research ecologist I taught biology and general science at secondary level until the mid 1990s.   Always a keen sewer and knitter I studied Patchwork and Quilting through City and Guilds courses for four years and since then have taught in a variety of shops in Kent and Sussex as well as privately.  In my own work I make contemporary pieces from hand dyed and printed fabric.  However, I enjoy teaching anyone from beginners upwards, and in any style, traditional, contemporary and modern.  My teaching style revolves around techniques and I encourage all students to work on individual projects.  I have recently contributed to a quilt which won the group category at Festival of Quilts at the NEC in 2016 and currently have a piece in the ‘On The Edge’ touring exhibition which is a juried exhibition coordinated by CQG the contemporary group of the Quilters’ Guild of the UK.
