Join Julia Hincks for a series of pattern cutting workshops to take you on a journey of drafting and creating your own garment designs. We start with skirts as these are the simplest, moving on to trousers and then later in the sessions, drafting a bodice pattern. The process of pattern drafting will allow you to develop paper patterns, toiles and block patterns from which you can adapt to create your own designs. Toiles will be made in calico to check the design and fit of the garment.
Some sessions can be booked individually and others build on the knowledge acquired in previous sessions, see full course description for details.
These classes are so popular they tend to get booked up in person before I can list them here, but please get in touch if you’d like to come in the future!
In this class we cover everything from threading your machine and winding a bobbin, reading and cutting a pattern, to cutting out and constructing a simple garment. By the end of the day you should have a finished simple garment such as pyjama bottoms, a reversible bag or a simple skirt. Previous experience is not necessary.

In this half day workshop you will make a reversible quilted fabric bowl, learning how to turn a flat piece of fabric into a 3D shape using quilting!
