Description
This crossbody bag is both useful and fun to make. A great project for adventurous beginners, a lined bag with internal slip pocket or for the more experienced with an internal zipped pocket. This workshop makes the perfect gift for either yourself or a loved one, suitable for anyone who has a bit of sewing machine experience.
We have a huge range of fabrics in the studio for you to purchase on the day, but if you prefer to bring your own you will need:
Outer fabric: 40cm x 70cm medium to heavy weight woven fabric such as denim, canvas or corduroy, or for the more experienced sewist a boucle would also be great.
Lining: 40cm x 70cm structured medium weight fabric such as cotton poplin or craft cotton – here’s your chance to go wild with a beautiful fabric you wouldn’t necessarily wear!
Bias binding: 1m, 25mm wide
Webbing: 1.2m of either 25mm, 32mm or 38mm wide depending on your personal preference
Zips: 30cm external zip and (optional) 15cm internal zip
Threads to match
A kit of interfacings, wadding, zips, webbing and hardware are included in the price of this workshop up to the value of £15. If you would like to ‘upgrade’ to fancier zips and webbing then these items can be purchased on the day.
Equipment:
Everything you need for this workshop is available to use in the studio on the day but if you would like to bring your own sewing tools then the following would be useful:
Fabric scissors
Thread snips
Pins and wonder clips
Finished size of bag: approx 37cm x 23cm plus adjustable strap.
Tea and coffee are available throughout the day, but please bring a packed lunch.
